May 8th is quickly approaching. How will you say, “I love you” this year to the moms in your life? Whether it’s with a hug, a card, or a sweet little treat, it’s the thought that counts. No? So here are a few “thoughts” I’ve collected to make shopping a bit easier on you.

Cards

Paper Source is my go-to for celebratory cards. They’ve got the cutest, most whimsical, and adorable designs matched up with unique and quirky sayings on their cards. True, they are a bit pricey ($5 and up); but when you see the colors, the words, the images, it’s worth the splurge. (Receiving Paper Source cards is as equally joyful as giving them!)

Lula Mae is another spot with unique cards, perfect for telling the moms in your life how special they are. This shop caters to the quirky creative and offers cards with sayings like “Couple of weirdoes together forever!”; “Happy birthday fro the cat!”; and “We’re better together” (with an image of toast and soft boiled egg smiling at each other.) I can only imagine what their MDay cards say!

Gifts

Kate Spade of course. They have the most darling coin purses; colorful bangles; stud earring sets; vibrant throws; poof keychains—and all for under $100.

Anthropologie has it. All. Candles; delicate jewelry; perfumes; lipsticks; stationery; vases; teapots. You name it. Basically, walk into the store and you’ll find something for your mom. My favorites? The monogram pendant necklace for only $38 and the succulent candle (which has a removable top that looks like a succulent) for only $32.

Burke Williams anyone? Who wouldn’t like a message; a facial; a pedicure; or just a relaxing day in the jacuzzi? Right in Old Pasadena lies Burke Williams, a fabulous day spay where you can snag an amazing gift card for the mom in your life who just needs to slow down.

Vromans Bookstore for all of those who have reading moms. This bookstore is dear to my heart, seeing as it was where I worked, met my husband, and now have a book sold there. It’s an amazing independent bookstore with aisles upon aisles of books, stationery goodies, and magazines.
