Freshen up your days — Spring style

Spring is in full bloom and I’m loving it. The crisp air; the scent of orange blossoms; the light layers. It’s that transitional time when the days are longer but the nights are still cool, making for lovely al fresco dining, dresses with bare legs, and pink peonies.

I’m loving looking for ways to springify my days. First? Purchase peonies, the most spring time flower around. Second? Light some of my favorite fresh scented candles. And third? Add as many spring-time accessories and makeup colors to my every day wardrobe.

One of my favorite places to purchase flowers is Trader Joe’s. They’re affordable; always fresh; and change with the season. This week? Peonies. For $6.99, these beauties make my living room feel as spring timey as it comes.

Next, lighting candles around my house is a favorite of mine. Especially ones that smell as good as the outdoors. I’m loving Anthropologie’s succulent candles (the top is a removable succulent figurine); scents include rosewater (“leafy green and apple blend with notes of rose water, peony and jasmine”); Moroccan mint (“zesty top notes of lemon verbena, basil and fig”); and peach and current (“citrus blend with notes of black currant, lychee, rose and sweet musk”). So. Yum.

Spring makeup is my new favorite accessory. Like the albeit shimmer stick from Anthropologie. Oh. Man. For $24, this tool highlights your face with a fresh, natural glow. As does the Tarte lipstick in hot pink (“a lip-tint with a soft, velvety-matte finish”); and (my faaaavorite) the Nars dual blush, which you can use dry or wet (love using it wet—creates a springy glow).

And lastly? Perfume. My scent for the season is Chance by Chanel. It’s fresh; it’s light; and has “unexpected floral bursts”; I can’t get enough. Snatch one up at Sephora.
