Perusing beauty magazines and style blogs, I came across three spring makeup trends for this year and for once, found myself excited to try all of them. Especially since Sephora and MAC are right here in Old Pasadena. (And, for those of you interested, Sephora offers free mini makeovers. First up? Perfect plum. Smudge this rich color across eyelids and lips for a sophisticated, day-to-night ready look. Not too heavy as black or too bold as red, plum offers a subtler way to make a dramatic statement.
One of my absolute favorite eye shadow brands is Urban Decay. Its makeup is creamy in texture and rich in color and lasts from day to evening. Don’t be alarmed by their eye shadow names, however. Half-Baked (golden bronze), Mildew (mossy green shimmer), and Smog (deep coppery brown) may be oddly named, but they pack a huge colorful punch.
