Get your walking shoes ready to step all over town this Saturday, Aug. 12, during BoldPas – An Art Takeover of Old Pasadena. From noon to 8 pm,

There will be temporary art installations in historic alleyways, muralist Andrew Hem will be painting “live” in Mercantile Alley, about 30 art shops and restaurants will be open and welcoming you in with artful backdrops for your selfies. You can do a self-guided tour by following this map (there will also be printed maps at the information booths on Saturday), or you can join one of two guided tours (at 1:30 pm and 5 pm.) by paying $10 and reserving your space.

This event should be a great way to enjoy creativity while getting to know the merchants in our town. Looking through the list of art shops and restaurants that will be part of it, I realized I’ve only been inside two of them! That leaves me with a long list of possibilities. How about you?
