Splendid–Comfortable; Chic; Coming Soon

Who doesn’t love comfort clothes? Especially when they’re chic. Coming this summer to Old Town Pasadena is Splendid, a store that will offer “a complete lifestyle collection of ultra-comfortable, effortlessly chic styles for the entire family,” writes their website. Um. Yes, please!

The brand launched in 2002 after a decade of attempting to create the perfect tee shirt. The result? An entire collection now sold nationwide in high-end department stores, specialty stores, and online. And thankfully, this comfy, chic shop is coming to our very own Pasadena. (Located inside the old Barnes and Noble space, it’ll be one of possibly six retail stores.)

With its fun font and asterisk over the i, Splendid has branded itself well. Its name alone offers up images of happiness, relaxation, comfort. Its clothing does the same. Welcome to a world of the perfect fit tee, summertime colors, and beachy-chic apparel. Welcome to Splendid.

I’m loving so many of their items, but by far, their Desert Rain Tie Dye Romper (for $138) is in the lead. Throw-on-and-go pieces are a must, and this adorable number does it–especially since the purple and blue tie dye is subtle. The Henley Jumpsuit (priced at $178) is up there too–another easy summer staple in classic black or white. Or their Cashmere Blend Pullover Sweater that looks like the most comfortable (and stylish) sweater one can own–in navy and white stripes, of course. Plus, cashmere at $118? Absolutely!

But Splendid offers more than just comfortable clothes. They’ve got shoes–like the colorful Mason Sandal for $58 (classic T-strap) and the Beverly Wedge for $108 (stacked 4 1/4 inch wedge with stripped cotton upper). They’ve got accessories–from tote bags and clutches to scarves and hair ties. They’ve got swimsuits–mix and match bikini tops (starting at $58) and bottoms (starting at $48), surf shirt coverups ($58), and one pieces ($97).

And that’s just for the women. Men and kids? You’re welcomed here too. Perfect fit tees, lived in hoodies, and throw-on crew neck sweaters come in comfy neutrals and stripes for the men. Plus all of your favorites are scaled down to fit girls, boys, and newborns alike. When they said for the entire family, they meant the entire family.

So get ready, Pasadena. Splendid’s coming soon.
