Patagonia: offering chic clothing and a whole lot of good.

A store I see often but don’t visit enough is Patagonia, on the corner of Fair Oaks and Union in Old Pasadena. For someone who’s not a nature girl, walking into this store tickles the hiker-skier-adventurer in me. The beautiful wooden beams and large open windows give this store a true organic feel to it when shopping. And the clothes. Oh, the clothes! Their puffers are by far one of my favorites. Adventurer chic is what I call them. The Women’s Down Sweater Jacket, for $229, comes in numerous bright colors and is packed with 100% traceable down, meaning the “goose down…can be traced back to birds that were never force-fed, never live-plucked.” (Awesome, right?)Another item on my favorites list is the Ahnya Dress, a stripped pull-over dress that acts like one giant hoodie. Cozy, adorable, and made with a soft organic cotton/polyester blend.

Along with women’s clothing, Patagonia sells both men’s, kids, and baby’s items. Like boys’ and girls’ bathing suits, down jackets, and hats. And men’s vests, jackets (favorites include M’s R1 Hoody for $159 and M’s Nano Puff Hoody for $249), wetsuits, yoga wear, and more.

But Patagonia does more than offer chic clothing. It’s a company that offers a lot of good too. They promote fair labor practices; use only the best materials; and support numerous organizations with millions of dollars.

Plus, from now until December 30th, Patagonia offers free yoga classes every Wednesday. Classes are lead by certified yoga instructors from 7:30pm-8:30pm, no reservation required! (Note: bring your own mat.)
