This is already happening so if you are interested please act quickly. America’s Got Talent, the TV show in which people from all over the country come to show their skills in front of judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Simon Cowell, is currently taping at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

It looks like they will be there through Friday, March 23. You can visit this page to sign up and request tickets. The date and the time of each taping are provided. Apparently, once you are signed up, you will also get notices for similar events around town.

I’ve gone to a couple of tapings before. I went to see Jeopardy with my daughter because we were curious of whether we could match the speed of the participants. (We concluded that we have all of the “nerd” required but not enough of the speed.) So first hand I can tell you that attending a taping makes for a fun experience, and that it is interesting to see how things work behind the television screen. However, you better know that a selfie is not going to happen. It’s the thing you want the most but the first thing they will tell you to do – put away that phone. If you have an out-of-town visitor, though, this can make his or her entire trip. It is as Hollywood as you can get. I hear that you’ll also get a 10% off coupon to a nearby restaurant. Plus you can’t discount the slim, but existing, possibility that you may come out on TV yourself as part of the audience.
