4th of July Style

Another red, white, and blue moment is coming, readers. The Big One. July 4th! Since summer has already bombarded us with its fierce heat, the holiday can confidently be spent poolside, oceanside, (or couch-side in an air-conditioned living room, of course), decked in America’s favorite colors. Myself, I’ll be at a family BBQ in the day then on the Pasadena bridge to watch the Rose Bowl fireworks at night. Which means, my outfit must endure daytime heat and possible night time chill. Lucky for me (and you), stores are brimming with red, white, and blue options, no matter how you spend the day.

My absolute favorite option this summer is the romper. And my absolute favorite (though slightly pricey) option is the Kate Spade Island Stamp Romper. Yes, it’s $348 (!!!), but it’s also incredibly chic, “made from flowing fabric,” and comes in a white and blue pattern. All that’s needed is a red statement necklace like this one from J.Crew.

A simple, easy, and fresh piece I’ve got my eye on is the white sleeveless crotchet lace shift dress from Heavenly Couture. This dress? Only $17.99. I love the chevron striped detailing and the scalloped edge. And? It’s white. A blank canvas for your July 4th celebrations. Try blue suede lace-up sandals from Steve Madden or this Manzaneda Fedora from Anthropologie. Could this red straw hat be any more perfect? (Except the fact that it’s only $49.95).

If you’ll be swimming this 4th of July, I’m digging Target’s bathing suits; especially their Bandeau Wrap One-Piece in blazing coral. Pair the $34.99 suit with the $19.99 Crochet Tank Dress in white; the open crotchet knit allows for the coral of the suit to peek through too. Throw your beachwear into a navy straw tote and you’re good to go for a red, white, and blue celebration.

Whatever combination you create, I wish you a very Happy Fourth of July!
