Southwest Pasadena includes the Colorado Street Bridge and the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Huntington Hospital is probably the largest member of the community. The communities in the Southwest include Raymond Hill – Arroyo Del Mar, the Lower Arroyo Seco, Bellefontaine and Annandale.
Some of Pasadena’s great residential architecture is along the Arroyo Seco, Grand Avenue, San Rafael Boulevard and many of the smaller streets in between. South Orange Grove Boulevard was the birthplace of Pasadena, and now features many upscale condos and townhouses.
Parts of Southwest are on the west side of the Arroyo Seco, and include expensive homes built in the 1920s and 1930s. This area is somewhat isolated from the rest of Pasadena but has access via several bridges over the Arroyo Seco. Johnson Lake is surrounded by private homes here.
