Historic Highlands consists of approximately 715 homes.It is a vibrant neighborhood and features many community activities which reinforce and encourage a strong bond between neighbors. Annual events include the Historic Highlands Home Tour, Fourth of July Parade & BBQ, and a Labor Day Block Party. Historic Highlands began as the estates and land holdings of two prominent Pasadena pioneers: David MacPherson, design engineer of the famed Mt. Lowe railroad and Ezra Dane, a grower. The Highlands changed from remote farmland, to outer suburbs to a bustling and varied neighborhood at the time of incorporation into the City of Pasadena in 1925.Historic Highlands today is a combination of many different architectural styles and cultures.
