When the 2020 elections come around, where will you choose to vote? Near your work? Your school? Your home? The Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters is seeking community suggestions on new vote center locations. 2020 will be the first elections with county-wide vote centers rather than neighborhood polling places.
California Common Cause, a nonpartisan, grassroots organization, is hosting a community meeting and open house on Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Jackie Robinson Center (1020 North Fair Oaks Avenue), to hear where Pasadena residents would like to cast their ballots. Some proposed sites include local library branches, churches, the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center, and the Pasadena Historical Museum.
In March 2020, Los Angeles County will open vote centers in compliance with the California Voter’s Choice Act passed in 2016. Vote centers will offer an 11-day voting period in convenient and accessible vote center locations within Los Angeles County. Voters who live anywhere in Los Angeles County will be able to register to vote and cast a ballot at any vote center within the county.
The presentation at the Jackie Robinson Center will explain this new vote center model and suggest some vote center locations. You can RSVP here. If you have questions, you can call California Common Cause at 213-623-1216.
This meeting is one 33 community meetings across the county sponsored by Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan’s office.
Plumbid – a new and innovative way to market and sell your home!
Thanks for reading about Where do you want to vote?
On another matter, how would you like a way to get 12% or more over asking price for your home? We recently sold a private view home for that amount over the list price because of the Plumbid bidding process. And buyers were solid — we made sure they were fully qualified and informed about the property before they could bid. Check here, or call or text the deFazio’s for more information at 626-825-9955.
