We’re certainly now in the midst of the holiday season. There are so many holiday events planned in town that it’s hard to keep up. However, we want you to know about the following tree lightings and holiday concerts, which will put your family in the holiday spirit, with the added benefits of being free of charge and offering a perk or two.
Nov. 30 to Dec. 21 – 6 pm to 8 pm (except tonight Nov. 30!) – Holiday concerts in the Playhouse District
Holiday concerts on Friday evenings start tonight at the Pasadena Playhouse Courtyard. (Incidentally, tonight (Nov. 30) is also the Tree Lighting celebration at the Pasadena Playhouse at 7 pm, when you can enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and coffee from Zona Rosa Cafe.) This concert will offer music by Kira & The Major 3, and a performance by the Bob Baker Marionette Theater.
The rest of the concerts will alternate from the Playhouse Courtyard to Vroman’s Courtyard, each from 6 pm to 8 pm:
On Dec. 7, at Vroman’s, Little Brazil will infuse Brazilian sounds to holiday classics, and you can enjoy them while sipping on a complimentary cup of coffee from The Next Chapter.
On Dec. 14, Kira and the Major 3 will be back at the Playhouse Courtyard to deliver a jazzy set.
The final concert, on Dec. 21, at Vroman’s, will offer the music of the Donavan/Muradian Quintet, this straight-edge jazz ensemble that you can enjoy with coffee from The Next Chapter.
Dec. 7 – 5 pm to 7 pm – Mayor’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration
You can join Mayor Terry Tornek for this Pasadena’s free holiday tradition. The tree lighting will happen at 6 pm, at City Hall (100 N. Garfield Ave). Dress up as you may get a chance to take pictures with Santa! Call (626) 744-7311 if you have additional questions.
We hope you start your holiday season by bringing lights and music into your life. Enjoy this fabulous month of love and family. We certainly are ready to celebrate!
