The opening of ‘A Dreamer’s World’ art exhibit at A.G.B.U. Vatche & Tamar Manoukian Center/Boyajian Hall will feature artwork from renowned Armenian painter Gevorg “Endza” Babakhanyan.
The exhibit will run from Nov. 2 to 4 and is free to the public. We saw his paintings online and read of his exhibit in Pasadena and knew we had to publicize these very interesting abstracts.
The exhibit will showcase Babakhanyan’s work as an oil painter, most known for his colorful and abstract imagery. Babakhanyan was born in 1968 in Armenia. In 1991, he graduated from the Fine Arts University, Yerevan, Armenia. Between the years 1990-92 Babakhayan acted at Yerevan “Nork” Theater. Between 1992 and 1995, he studied at the Armenian Theological Seminary, Jerusalem and was ordained as a priest in 1995. He also served as a priest in Haifa and Tel Aviv in the early 2000s. In 2003, Babakhanyan graduated from the Jerusalem Art Studio and in 2008 graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Venice, Italy. In 2010, Babakhanyan became the art director of the “Machanents” Theater, Cross of Armenian Unity, NGO in Etchmiadzin.
During his career, Babakhanyan has traveled throughout the world to showcase his work. Part of the proceeds from the exhibits will help with renovation and construction costs for the Children & Youth Cultural Center in Karvajar-Artsakh.
