As we told you on a previous post, the Pasadena Museum of California Art (PMCA) will be closing its doors permanently on October 7, 2018. They museum is, however, remaining active until then and recently sent out information about two events that we thought you’d like to know about.
This Saturday, July 28, from 10 am to noon, there will be a walking tour that will allow you to follow in the footsteps of some of the women who shaped our City of Roses. You will hear stories about female artists, botanists, entrepreneurs, politicians, and revolutionaries and their contributions to the life and growth of Pasadena. Julia Long, of Pasadena Walking Tours, will meet you in front of the Pasadena Public Library Central Branch (285 E Walnut St.) and conclude with a brief tour of Judy Chicago’s Birth Project: Born Again at the PMCA. This tour is limited to 15 people and you should bring walking shoes, comfortable attire, and water because, as you know, our days are pretty warm. There is an admission price of $20 and $15 for PMCA Members. Tickets must be purchased in advance at bit.ly/pmcaworkshops.
Then, on Friday through Sunday, August 3-5, from noon to 5 pm, you can start your Christmas shopping early and on budget, and at the same time support the museum, during the museum’s book sale at the Kenny Scharf Garage. And since August 3 is also the Free First Friday, you can tour the museum free of charge. Parking for this event will be available in the Community Bank Lot adjacent to the PMCA.
We hope you plan ahead to be part of these last events at PMCA, which has for so long been an important part of our city. The museum is located at 490 East Union Street, in Pasadena, CA 91101
Plumbid – a new and innovative way to market and sell your home!
Thanks for reading our post about The PMCA is closing; but not before these great events.
On another matter, we recently sold a private view home for that amount over the list price because of the Plumbid bidding process. And buyers were solid — we made sure they were fully qualified and informed about the property before they could bid. Check here, or call or text the deFazio’s for more information at 626-825-9955. And, if you are moving to Pasadena, we can help you. With more than 50 years of combined experience, we know the territory and can find the best property for you.
