Pasadena Restaurant Week is kicking off May 6th and going until Friday May 11th. To celebrate the annual event, restaurants all over town and (a few a little outside) are offering prix fixe menus for lunch or dinner, or sometimes both. It’s a great way to fill your belly for a little money while supporting old favorites and trying new spots that you’ve never been to before.
Some of the classic favorites on the list include all Smith Brothers’ restaurants: Parkway Grill, Arroyo Chop House and Smitty’s. Other Pasadena institutions include Kathleen’s, Einstein’s former den of brilliance turned bistro, Madeline Garden, which is offering a selection of formal teas in place of lunch as well as an elegant dinner menu. You can also dine at
Perry’s, Mi Piace, Santorini and Clearman’s. Chain restaurants are also participating, such as Paul Martin’s, Roy’s, Umami, and the newer Great Maple. For a taste of something new, some of the spots that just opened in the past year or so and are newcomers to Restaurant Week, check out Bone Kettle, Crackin’ Kitchen, Twohey’s Tavern and Trejo’s Cantina.
You can check out the full line up of participating restaurants at http://www.pasadenarestaurantweek.com/restaurants/. The link also includes all the details you need to know, including pricing and lunch and/or dinner menus. It can be helpful to call ahead for reservations and to confirm availability as many people take advantage of the Restaurant Week deals. Many of the fine dining restaurants also offer supplements and upgrades for some courses, so be sure to check out those additional options as well.
Rather than creating a special menu, some spots, including The Mixx, may be offering deals through a downloadable coupon. Other deals can be found on the official Restaurant Week app. If you download the Restaurant Week app, you are entered for a chance to win “delicious prizes.” Links to the app for iPhone and Android can be found http://www.pasadenarestaurantweek.com, along with more information about the event.
