Arroyo Seco Weekend launched last year as the latest music festival to take SoCal by storm. And while the lineup is super impressive with Jack White, Neil Young, Gary Clark Jr., Alanis Morissette, and Robert Plant headlining, what really matters is the food. This year’s lineup of chefs, food vendors, and restaurants is almost completely different from last year’s and nearly as impressive as the musicians. Check out some of the standouts from LA’s famous food scene—and a little further afield in some cases:
And a few restaurants can be found a bit closer to home, including: Bourbon Steak is legendary chef Michael Mina’s steakhouse, located in Glendale’s Americana At Brand, just a short ride from Pasadena.
Freedman’s is an update on Jewish deli in nearby Silverlake and has already gotten rave accolades, including being named as semifinalist for the prestigious James Beard awards.
Sage Plant Based Bistro has many locations, including an outpost in Old Pasadena. The vegan spot is sure to be a welcome change from some of the meat heavier other options
Block Party has been a popular hangout over in Highland Park, just minutes from Pasadena and one of the city’s newest food scenes.
Eater top favorites include Hatchet Hall, Jon & Vinny’s and Cassell’s Hamburgers, and STRFSH. Ms Chi is the upcoming Downtown Los Angeles’s Arts District from Top Chef star Shirley Chung.
To wash down all the good food, there’s also craft beers, courtesy of Beer Belly as well as natural wines and other refreshing beverages to stay cool in the hot sun. The event is happening at the Rose Bowl on June 23 and 24, 2018 with passes already on sale. Admission is around $149 (plus fees) for a single day’s general admission and food and drink prices are additional. Until the rock festival rolls into town, don’t forget up April 7th’s PinotFaire.
