Beloved boutique Lula Mae is closing its doors on March 31st. The stationery store “with a heart” has existed on the corner of Holly Street and Fair Oaks Ave in Old Pasadena for fifteen years and has loved calling Southern California home! In a letter to her customers, store owner Marci Toombs explained that the store closing had nothing to do with business. In fact, “this last holiday season was one of our best!” she writes on her webiste. Instead, Toombs is moving to Seattle to “start a new chapter in [her] life” and to “be close to [her] mom.”
To celebrate this new chapter, come shop Lulua’s storewide sales, happening now until closing! Sales include all products and fixtures and will last during all business hours (Monday – Friday 12-5pm and Saturday – Sunday 11-6pm).
February 24th – March 2nd – 30% off STORE WIDE
March 3rd – March 9th – 50% off STORE WIDE
March 10th – March 16th – 75% off STORE WIDE
March 17th – The end of March – “Banana’s, $1.00 items, and make [Marci] an offer items!”
Lula Mae is also throwing a private party from 5pm until 8pm on March 2nd. Enjoy cupcakes, champagne, memories, and more!
About the store
Named after Toombs’ great great grandmother, Lula Mae began its fifteen-year-long career selling only family and independent gift and greeting card lines—which has stayed true until today. The boutique was voted Best Boutique in Pasadena for 12 years, named one of the Top 5 Card Shops in L.A., by Los Angeles Magazine, one of the top 25 Most Gifted Retailers in the U.S. by Gifts and Decorative Accessories Magazines, and Must See by the NY Times.
Be sure not to miss setting foot in this adorable and happy boutique, even if it is to say goodbye!
