2018 Pasadena PinotFaire is coming to town in April. But you can score cheaper tickets if you buy them online now, instead of waiting to get them at the door.
The 10th Annual Pasadena Grand Tasting will be held on Saturday, April 7th at the Altadena Town & Country Club. The event promises to be The San Gabriel Valley’s Largest Wine Tasting & Culinary Event. The wine fest is the largest Pinot Noir tasting in the San Gabriel Valley/Pasadena area but also offers Chardonnay and Syrah tastes as well. The event features 100 wineries, various food purveyors, and winemakers.
Tickets to the event are all-inclusive and include free parking (at or around the facility), all wine tastings, food, culinary selections, hor d’ oeuvres, use of a Riedel Pinot Noir glass, and other touches. There are different artisanal cheeses and charcuteries offerings from Alexander’s Prime Meats & Catering, the gourmet butcher in Howie’s Market, including various European and domestic cheeses and variations on pork and meat preparations ranging from pates to sausages.
During the event’s general hours is a “Special Pinot Noir Challenge” with tickets available to a select few if purchased online—separate from the admission to the event.
The event is sponsored by the upcoming PinotPigs, a Spanish style pintxos and wine bar, as well as Pasadena Magazine, Pasadena NOW and PinotFaire LLC. Local non-profits including AbilityFirst, which provides programs for children and adults with disabilities as well as OCA-GLA, which advances the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans (APA) in the United States will benefit from the event.
General Admission starts at $89 per person. Tickets are also available for early entry, which gets you in before the crowds for a more personalized sommelier service. There is also an “Enthusiasts Club” ticket which gives you access to a VIP room complete with special seating and additional perks like one on one time with the sommelier—and extra tastings and food. Tickets can get pricey, but check Groupon and Facebook in the weeks leading up to the event for promo codes and other discounts so that you can enjoy the food and wine focused event without burning through your home buying budget.
