The Mixx opened up on Colorado sometime in November and already locals are talking about the prime spot for Happy Hour. Located in the former confusing sushi/nightclub Terrace spot on the corner of Colorado and Los Robles, directly across from the Paseo mall, The Mixx is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
As its name implies, The Mixx is a combination lounge and restaurant with an eclectic menu encompassing a variety of cuisines and food trends. It has kept some relics of its former venue space and has already hosted DJs and events that keep everyone grooving. The Happy Hour is an especial hit because the spacious size and convenient location means that you really can meet up for after work drinks without much effort. In addition to $5 drinks, there are also a few $5 small plate items to accompany them.
If you’re looking for a larger meal, The Mixx has a supersized variety of offerings that draw on the chef’s background as culinary traveler around the globe, cooking in different kitchens. The variety of influences from the Middle East to Mexico are also reflected in the kitchen’s ability to adapt to different dietary restrictions, whether you are avoiding meat or gluten.
The Mixx seems to be a lively addition to the Pasadena dining scene in the Theater District, as it offers live music, DJs and other entertainment, like a recent art show, to accompany the food. It looks to be a good place before catching a film at the Laemmle or Arclight or even for a late night snack after the movie.
And The Mixx isn’t the only new spot in town to get excited about. Former Top Chef contestant Richard Blais is reportedly bringing his fried chicken venture to town in the new year, according to The Pasadena Star-News. Dubbed Crack Shack, Blais already has six locations throughout Southern California and Pasadena is set to be the next opening.
Opening in Old Pasadena on Green Street, Crack Shack is renowned for bringing long lines and even selling out as people clamor for a taste of the addictive fried chicken.

We recently sold a private view home for that amount over the list price because of the Plumbid bidding process.
