Summer 2017 DineLA Restaurant Week is technically a little longer than a week. Use the extra days to try all the restaurants that are participating and maybe even splurge on a place you normally wouldn’t. Check out some of the most decadent and luxurious menus around town Pasadena and then make a reservation by calling the restaurant before your choice books up.
For a swanky dinner that is still a splurge, but let’s you get a taste of how the other half eats, check out Alexander’s Steakhouse. The small, sort-of chain has a Michelin star at one of its restaurants in Northern California and offers the same modern refinement at its Pasadena location. It can be a bit much for any old night, but the six-course tasting menu is a break from what you could pay. At $119, you can indulge in a well-thought out menu featuring riffs on steak and corn, my favorite summertime meal.
Another elite option is to head over to The Royce at The Langham. Available for dinner on select nights, The Royce is offering a prix fixe menu for $130. The Royce is another of Pasadena’s elite steakhouses houses that features more than just the usual steak and potato standards. The special kicks off with an amuse bouche and then has a choice of a starter and entrée, rounding off with a brown butter cake. Vegetarians can indulge as the menu has veggie-forward options.
And if you follow Eater, they recommend heading to The Terrance at The Langham for lunch. $20 looks to be well-spent on a two-course Asian-influenced menu filled with trendy salads and bowls.
You can also count on Maison Akira to come up with a luxurious menu. For DineLA’s summer edition, Maison Akira is open for dinner with a three-course prix fixe menu for $49 or you can add wine pairings for $70. You can also upgrade certain dishes for an additional fee, including a $15 foie gras starter or a New York steak entrée for $25.
For the full line-up head to the official DineLA website and then check out what’s going on in your part of Pasadena.
