The beauty of summer is that there’s never a dull moment… or weekend, in this case. We are listing a few Pasadena events happening in the upcoming days. Whichever you choose, it should be fun!
Saturday June 17 – 7:30 pm – Pasadena Symphony and POPS at LA County Arboretum
This is the first concert of the Pasadena POPS Sierra Summer Concert series. It’s entitled BROADWAY: THE GOLDEN AGE, and it will present Liza Minnelli as special honoree. Conductor Michael Feinstein will welcome multiple soloists to the stage to honor Liza with her Cabaret costar Joel Grey, Pink Martini’s Storm Large, and others. Doors open at 5:30 pm for picnicking. Lawn tickets for this event start at $25; table seats at $43. You can call (626) 793-7172 to purchase or follow this link.
Saturday June 17 – 7:30 pm – Chicano Batman and KCRW DJ Anthony Valadez at One Colorado
One Colorado continues with Chicano Batman – four young men in vintage formalwear, who came out of L.A. playing songs that blended Brazilian Tropicalía with early ’70s psychedelic soul and the romantic pop of bands like Los Ángeles Negros. It was an immediately addictive sonic brew, and their reputation grew fast. Since forming in 2008, Chicano Batman has released two full-length albums – a self-titled 2009 debut, and 2014’s Cycles Of Existential Rhyme – as well as two EPs. The band has performed at Coachella and toured with Alabama Shakes and Jack White, among others. Now, they’re making their boldest statement yet with Freedom Is Free, their third album and ATO Records debut. KCRW DJ Anthony Valadez opens and closes the evening spinning some of his favorite tunes. This evening is free of charge.
Saturday and Sunday June 17 -18 / 10 am to 7 pm – Pasadena Chalk Festival at Paseo Colorado
This is the 25th anniversary of this event. More than 25,000 sticks of pastel chalk and 600 artists will be involved. Guests will be treated to live music throughout the weekend. Children can test their creative talents from noon to 5 pm at the Children’s Chalkland (2nd level by El Cholo), where there will also be a balloon artist and a face painter. Paseo Colorado is located at 300 East Colorado Blvd (between Marengo and Los Robles Avenues). Click here for more information.
Tuesday June 20 – 6 pm – Vroman’s Hasting Ranch “Prom Night”
This is not the weekend, but close enough, yes? In celebration of the upcoming musical at the Sierra Madre Playhouse, entitled THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES (which is about 1950s and 60s proms and high school reunions) this “listening party” at Vroman’s Hasting Ranch will include a mini-fashion show, prom regalia, and games. Maybe you’ll go home with a prize corsage or boutonniere after listening to some music. Punch will be served, and you can pick up a certificate to $5 off discounted tickets for the musical. Vroman’s Hasting Ranch is located at 3729 E. Foothill Blvd. in Pasadena 91107.
The weather is great, and many of these events are at the right price! See you someplace this weekend.

Thanks for reading about Don’t miss these Pasadena events for the weekend!
Would you consider a way to get 12% or more over asking price for your home? We recently sold a private view home for that amount over the list price because of the Plumbid bidding process. And buyers were solid — fully qualified and informed about the property before they could bid.
