Valentine’s Day is around the corner, so make your reservations at some of the best places to celebrate in Pasadena soon, before they fill up. Or don’t. Instead, try a picnic or a staycation for this year’s day of love.
Maison Akira is a great place to spend Valentine’s Day because the restaurant has a history of making holidays very special occasions, with a carefully planned menu and attention to detail. Even better, this year they have a special menu for the weekend, should you and your sweetheart not be able to make it on the official day. There’s a menu just for February 14th as well. You can find all the details for both of the fantastic feasts at the restaurant’s events page. The special menus are the only options available for both the romantic weekend and Valentine’s Day and reservations are definitely required.
Bistro 45 has a special Valentine’s Day menu up on their website, with two seating times available. The $95 prixe fixe menu features decadent lobster ravioli, followed by a choice of fish or steak, desserts and a glass of champagne. The restaurant also has special dinners where they feature a winery and create a special menu, which is a perfect option if you want to celebrate but can’t quite make it out on Valentine’s Day.
For a takeout, stop by Roma Market over on North Lake. Create your own antipasti plate filled with a selection of the Italian deli’s meats and cheeses. Follow it up with some pasta and sauce from their homemade offerings and don’t forget a couple of cookies. Or try a day date and pick up some of the delicious deli sandwiches and sweets for a picnic in a nearby park.
Try a romantic staycation this year at the Westin, which is conveniently in walking distance to the fun and restaurants of Old Pasadena, or splurge at The Langham, which is romantic at any time of year, but especially Valentine’s Day.
And don’t forget the chocolates, candy, and confections, check out our guide to the best sweet stops in Pasadena or head to sugarfina, which is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a series of promotions that end on February 14.
