Los Angeles has a growing reputation for being one of the best, if not the best, food city in the United States, so it only follows that Pasadena is becoming a more and more popular food neighborhood. Everything from casual delis and burger joints to fine dining exist around town. But sometimes you want more than just great food; you also need a spot that has amazing atmosphere. Check out some of our favorite places for great ambience—and delicious food.
Café Santorini may not look that special from the steet, but there’s a patio on the second floor that is reminiscent of European eateries. White linen floats on tables and you’re surrounded by brick walls and iron work that invite you to sit and stay a while under the strings of lights. Indoors, colorful chandeliers set the stage for a romance. It’s perfect for enjoying a glass of wine and hummus after a long day or for digging into a Mediterranean pizza or steak.
La Grande Orange Café
La Grande Orange Café is good for more than just delicious salads. It’s also a prime spot for checking out the Gold Line as passengers roll into town or checking out what’s going on in the open kitchen.
AKA Bistro in the alley is a great place for enjoying long summer nights, with outdoor movies, and live music. But the patio is also a nice spot for enjoying the view on a cooler night, with space heaters and twinkle lights and watching shoppers pass by with a cocktail or craft beer in hand.
The Raymond has long been a favorite with Around Town Pasadena, thanks to an innovative menu in a historic home setting. Enjoy your meal on one of the two patios, perfectly picturesque with a water fountain or check out the cozy fireplace and gorgeous chandelier.
Constance Perry’s by Claud Beltran in the Dusit
Claud Beltran is basically a Pasadena legend and the chef has partnered with the innovative Dusit hotel to create an eclectic menu with international influences for Constance Perry’s by Claud Beltran. Enjoy it while dining al fresco in the courtyard, which is magnificently modern, open and beautiful.
