When it comes to eating out as a family, finding places to take the kids can be a tricky. Luckily, Pasadena is a great food city for kids too. Along with the usual pizza joints, burger stops and chain restaurants, you can find some sit-down eateries that are kid-friendly. Check out some picks that have been vetted by Yelping parents:
Roy’s is a chain, but it’s more upscale than other chains and therefore great for celebrating birthdays and special occasions if kids are part of the party. The kid’s menu is unavailable online, but the rumor is that it does exist and has options for adventurous eaters as well as those that only eat their chicken in the form of fried fingers.
Slater’s 50/50 offers a mix and match kid’s menu that allows kids to pick an entrée and sides.
Melys Pupuseria is a small space with a big menu. From tacos to pupusas, there’s likely something for the younger members in your group.
Plate 38 is a bar and grill perfect for eating any meal, from breakfast through lunch. The kid’s menu is packed with classics like mac n cheese, grilled cheese, and quesadillas.
Sushi Roku is rumored to have introduced a kid’s menu, so there’s no need to get a baby-sitter on sushi night. Served bento-box style, kids can choose from beef, chicken, or sushi and sides like veggies or fruit.
Houston’s is yet another chain; but is so kid-friendly that kids grow up and then bring their kids to the joint.
Ichima has a friendly staff and offers kid friendly dining necessities like highchairs. Some Yelper’s report a kid’s menu that features chicken teriyaki in kid-sized portions.
If all else fails, plan a party at the only kid karaoke joint in town, Chirp Karoke Café. The menu options are themed, and kids and parents can sing their hearts out.
When it comes to kid-friendly dining, chains are definitely better about providing a special menu for children, but plenty of less expected spots are also happy to welcome kids, for breakfast, lunch, and diner.
