Eater posted a dining guide on where to eat if you happen to be in town for an event at The Rose Bowl. With the 2016 Copa America Centenario in town for June, it seemed like a good idea to take a look at some of the spots that Eater left out. Although Eater included a mix of high end (Union) and Pasadena standards and favorites (Pie n Burger), the list didn’t include a lot of quick stops where you can enjoy a good meal before or after your event. This updated list focuses on Old Pasadena, which tends to be convenient to the Rose Bowl, and spots where you can linger for a bit but don’t have to wait terribly long for your meal to arrive.
Check out where to go after spending an afternoon at the Flea Market or any other Rose Bowl event:
Little Flower Candy Co. is famous for it’s marshmallows, but check it out for brunch/lunch and you’ll be happy that you did. Baked goods, salads, sandwiches, all perfect for a day at the Rose Bowl.
Green Zone combines Asian dishes with organic goodness and is quickly becoming a dining destination.
California Chutney, a modern take on fast fresh cooking with a flavor of Indian cuisine, is the perfect place to grab a quick lunch or dinner on the way home.
El Toreo on Fair Oaks is an old-school, no frills spot that offers great food and plenty of spicy salsa and chips to accompany the intermittently blaring jukebox.
King Taco looks small from its spot on the corner, but the menu has plenty of quick options. Take your place in line and then order a deliciously sweet pineapple drink to sip as you wait for your food.
Copa Vida is a perfect place to perk up with a cold brew and a bite of breakfast or lunch.
After a long day in the stands, waiting for food seems like an extra effort, but at the sushi bar at A’Float, food is within your grasp as soon as you sit down, courtesy of rotating plates.
