It’s closing in on that time of the year—Valentine’s Day. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite pieces, whether you’re staying in or headed out. And best of all—you can find every item here, right in Old Pasadena.
Valentine’s Day In
I love a Valentine’s Day in. Cozy; intimate; and no dress code required. I’m hoping for one of these this year. The overcrowded restaurants and packed tables can put a damper on your one-on-one time with that special someone. So, making a meal at home and snuggling up on the couch, ready to Netflix your heart out, sounds pretty perfect for me. Plus? I can get away with wearing anything. Here’s what I’m loving.
Yes, it’s still a dress. But it’s a sweatshirt dress. Need I say more? Lou & Grey’s spacedye sweatshirt dress is a game changer. Not only will you feel feminine, but you’ll feel comfortable. Win-win. Long sleeves; cozy cotton. And—less then $60.
Since comfort and style are what we’re going for here, Anthropologie’s Santa Ana romper is next on my list of staying-in-outfits. It’s a no-fuss piece that will make you appear entirely put-together. And all you did was step in and zip up. Black; with the appearance of a two-piece; and all for $138.
Valentine’s Day Out
Nothing says Valentine’s Day out like a party dress, am I right? Flirty, mini, lace-y, bling-y, you name it. Whatever your style, wherever you’re going, a party dress for V-Day is a must. Some of my favorites?
Banana Republic’s print jacquard fit-and-flare dress. Boatneck, short sleeves, and adorable. I’m all for fit-and-flare shapes—they hug you in all the right places, giving you a fun and flirty look. The jacquard of this particular dress is a subtle graphic print in black and white, which allows you to add your own color with shoes, jewelry, a purse, you name it.
I don’t have to tell you twice that Kate Spade is the mecca for flirty party dresses. Yes, they’re a bazillion dollars. But. But! The right one will last you decades. I’m sure of it. Classic. Lady-like. On point. How can you lose? Since buying a dress here for Valentine’s Day would definitely be an investment, a little black dress is the way to go. Like? Their rose lace fit and flare dress. It’s lace-y all over with a scalloped hemline and sheer bodice. Plus—the cutout in the back is so chic, you’ll never want to take it off.
