I know this store isn’t new to Old Pasadena, but when I was thinking of places to feature, I realized something. I have yet to write about Lucky Brand. Yes, this store has been in Old Pasadena for a little over a year (making the move from the Paseo), but it’s been a staple in the retail world for over twenty years.
Lucky Brand began creating their all American denim back in 1990. According to the company’s website, “We gave them their distinctively Lucky look by literally putting them through the wringer — ripping, fraying, sanding, patching, and washing by hand — to give them true character and soul. Then, we added authentic hardware, personalized touches and playful details, and American legend was born.” Today, Lucky Brand can be found in over 209 stores.
Fortunately, we’ve got easy access to one. Located on Colorado Blvd., Lucky Brand has an amazing selection of denim for both men and women. We’re talking (for women) the slim boyfriend, cigarette, low-rise, boot cut, mid-rise, skinny, straight, ankle, high-rise, wide-leg, curvy, you name it. And for men? Super skinny, authentic skinny, slim, straight, boot, athletic, and relaxed. There is no doubt, something for everyone — no matter your shape, no matter your style.
But the bright and cheerful store offers more than jeans. They sell an array of items, all in the boho-American-country-esque style Lucky Brand does so well. Tops (tunic, flannel, breezy), dresses (maxi, shift, silk), jewelry (squash blossom, graphic, turquoise), shoes (boots, boots, boots), belts (leather), and bags (leather as well). Plus? For the quality and materials, items are well priced. Like their leather point tote—100% cow leather for $198; and their denim begins around $100. Pretty close to perfect.
