Summer is almost here bringing to Pasadena long and warm days and an array of outdoor events to enjoy. A series of such open-air events will begin at the Levitt Pavilion at Memorial Park on June 14 at 7 p.m., when legendary Latin percussionists, father-daughter duo, Pete Escovedo and Sheila E. will perform.
After June 14 you will be able to enjoy a concert every week from Thursday through Sunday until September 20. Each of these dates will showcase a different artist or group. They will perform music geared for children on Thursday nights, and anything from Americana to Eclectic the rest of the evenings. Music will start at 7 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays, and at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The grounds, however, with booths, food trucks, and other vendors, will be ready for you by 5:30 p.m.
Take blankets or low-back chairs, box up a picnic, and arrive early to find a comfortable spot from which to enjoy a show. Every performance is free of charge thanks to the support of the Mortimer Levitt Foundation and other sponsors.
Think about it, this is your chance to see artists whose concerts normally require a cover charge, like the Bobby Rodriguez Latin Band (performing July 12) and Quetzal (September 12), at no cost! Plus you can enjoy them with your family and in a relaxed environment. See the complete list of performers here. (The left column lists the Pasadena concerts. The right lists those at the Levitt Pavilion at McArthur Park in L.A.)
The Pasadena Levitt Pavilion is located at 85 E. Holly Avenue. If you want to avoid searching for parking, jump on the Metro Gold Line, which has a convenient Memorial Park Station.
We are looking forward to the 2015 concerts at the Levitt Pavilion. Will you meet us there?
