I’m loving this spring weather we’ve been having. Breezy but warm, perfect for midi skirts, chambray shirts, and bejeweled sandals. It’s time to swap out those dark winter colors for spring time hues. Those heavy materials for lightweight ones. Goodbye blacks and wools; hello yellows and linens.
One of my favorite items to change up for springtime is my purse. When the season turns warm and sunny, it’s time for bright colored satchels; whimsical clutches; and floral patterned totes. And some of my favorites for this spring can be found right here in Old Pasadena.
First up? The Lily Avenue Carrigan from Kate Spade. While this preppy purse is priced at $298, the details make it well worth it. Double-faced, cross-hatched leather; scallop-edged top; and colorful hues, including sprout green, island deep blue, and geranium. It’s the perfect addition to any sundress this season.
If you’re looking for whimsical, look no further than Kate Spade’s Spring Forward Birdhouse purse. “This witty wicker birdhouse…brings a bit of backyard charm to any ensemble.” Yes, it’s $428, but it’s almost like carrying around a piece of springtime art. Next on my list are these fun pouches from Banana Republic. Coated cotton and perfectly sized, the Conversational Large Pouch comes printed with quirky graphics, like “Me + My Bag”; “= The Perfect Couple”; “Ciao”; and “Bella”; and are perfectly priced at just $28. http://bananarepublic.gap.com/
And finally, my new springtime purse collection wouldn’t be complete without a beautiful one from Anthropologie. So many to choose from, but I’m leaning towards the Meribel Metallic Tote ($168) because not only is it a chic staple with a fun colored twist, but it’s also versatile–wear it as a tote or as a messenger bag. It makes the price tag worth every penny! http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/index.jsp
