Maybe it’s the change of season, but I’m in full on transition mode–both with my wardrobe and my home. I love strolling through Crate & Barrel and Restoration Hardware and picking up a new frame, a fun pillow, or dreamy smelling candle. It’s amazing what a few new pieces will do to refresh a room. And thankfully, Pasadena has plenty of adorable home goods shops to do just that. From the big chains to made-in-LA boutiques, there’s something here for everyone.
My new favorite place to shop is Cisco Home, located on Arroyo directly across from Whole Foods. All products here are made in LA, so it feels right to buy here, no? Recently, I picked up some amazing new pillows for a new office space of mine. For goose down, beautiful colored pillows that were originally over $100, I snatched them up for $40 each. (Guys, their pillow sale is insane.) Walking through their show room is an inspirational journey alone. Much of their pieces remind me of Restoration Hardware with an even greater unique twist. (And similar in price, for sure). Plus, the furniture here “is made with natural materials,” so it’s not only good for your home but for your health as well. Win win.
Next place to visit would have to be Oliver’s Interior. Owned by interior designer Carolyn E. Oliver, Oliver’s opened in Pasadena on Green Street over a decade ago. I’ve walked by this shop numerous times and am always inspired by her displays. It’s a place to go to purchase a one-of-a-kind piece. And it’s no wonder. Oliver has numerous clients who trust her eye and depend on her to design ski chalets, country estates, beach side rentals, and more. Get your wallets out. It isn’t cheap here. But for the uniqueness you’d find? It’s worth the splurge.
The newest interior design store to open in Pasadena is On Madison, located (where else) on Madison Ave. in the Playhouse District. The location is adorable. Inside a charming brick two-story building. The owner, Patrice Wyndham-Smith, has been collecting all her life and “strives to create a collection of beautiful things that feel both classic and fresh at the same time.” Particularly, Wyndham-Smith is drawn to French and American designers of the 1930s through the 1970s. Plus, the great thing about On Madison is they provide design service for those in need of some help. (And let’s be honest, we all could.)
Spring is coming. Get your home ready by visiting one of these fantastic interior design shops in Pasadena today!
