Bachi Burger has become a Las Vegas legend and lovers of Sin City have been delighted to welcome the sinfully delicious burgers into Old Pasadena.
The self-proclaimed “best burger in Vegas” is renowned for its innovative burgers. According to the website, “bachi” has a double meaning for the Asian influenced burger spot. Bachi is both short for hibachi—the Japanese grill—and The Golden Rule.
So how can a classic American cuisine like the humble hamburger take on the bold flavors associated with Asian? Pretty well, it seems. Think influences like Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches, which become bahn mi burgers: a mixture of meats blended into a patty and topped with a pork pate and pickled veggies. Mr. Ho’s burger, of Chinese influence, features a purple hued taro bun and Chinese sausage. And because it’s one of the trendiest burger restaurants in the country, there are also fried eggs available as toppings. Not to mention an assortment of other options ranging from shisito peppers to gourmet cheeses.
Bachi just sort of magically appeared near the corner of Fair Oaks and Green St late last month, but if the Yelp reviews are any indication, it’s already a big hit around town. The Kiki burger (a mushroom topped sensation) seems to be popular as is the oxtail chili cheese fries dish. Switch up your usual diet soda for cherry yuzu or apple lychee. And of course gourmet shakes like a salty caramel marshmallow or green tea banana to finish everything off on a sweet note.
