As you prepare to carve up your pumpkin for Halloween, get a taste of the seasonal favorite with some of the pumpkin dishes and delights being served up around town. From pumpkin pastas to latte flavors, pumpkin is on the menu.
For plenty of pumpkin, head over to Slater’s 50/50. Along with their famously fattening burgers, you can also find a pumpkin dipping sauce to go with your sweet potato fries (think marshmallow topping on yams) and even a few pumpkin ales on the extensive beer list.
For a more substantial serving of the famous gourd, Celestino has a pumpkin tortellini available for both lunch and dinner. If you’re in the mood for something spicy, at Daisy Mint there are more than a few pumpkin offerings on the menu including the popular Panang Pumpkin Curry. Over at Chao Doi, the pumpkin curry includes shrimp in a red curry sauce. And one of the specialties at My Vegan is the P.E.T, a stir fry of pumpkin, eggplant and tofu and other veggies.
You can find plenty of pumpkin pie around town, including at the always popular Urth Caffe, but if you’re looking for something sweet in anything but pie form then head to Sugar Fix for their seasonally available Halloween Pumpkin Cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. There’s also pumpkin pie ice cream at Coolhaus. And of course the Cheesecake Factory has their pumpkin cheesecake.
And to wash it all down, look for pumpkin pie-inspired beverages to pop up in everything from your latte to your milkshake at local favorites. At Bird Pick, you can not only find a pumpkin spice tea latte, but also enjoy a refreshing Witch’s Brew for the haunting holiday.
