While fall has officially arrived, it kind of still feels like summer. Ninety degree weather doesn’t quite put you in the mood for pumpkin spice lattes, riding boots, or puffer vests. But, I’ve come up with small ways to make that transition from summer to fall feel like fall, no matter the weather outside. My wardrobe solution? Fall hats. Plop on a felted fedora, a wool baseball cap, or a cozy beanie with your shorts and tee and you’ve transitioned a summer staple into a fall look. (Jazz it up even more with a pair of your favorite booties.)
Here are the hats I’m currently crushing on:
The Popolo Bow Beret — I snatched this hat up the moment I saw it displayed at Anthropologie. It’s cozy, floppy, and the perfect solution to bed-head in the cold months ahead. Plus, the heather grey beret has an adorable bow sewed on the side. And? It’s only $39.50. Steal!
The Colorblock Wool Baseball Cap — I actually bought this hat last season and was happy to see it on the shelves again at JCrew! Already, I’ve gotten my money’s worth of this cap (it’s only $39.50), but it’s been on repeat lately these past few weeks. Pair it with distressed skinny jeans, a slouchy tee, and fun flats for a “welcome to fall” look.
Goorin Everyday Ms. Danke Wool Floppy — the style I hope to rock this season is the wool/felted floppy hat. I loved the floppy straw hat look for summer and the fall transition hat is no exception. It’s laid back but chic, the perfect item to wear with sleek boots and a cozy sweater. Goorin Brothers does this style well with its Ms. Danke hat, which has a “wide brim and a thin band,” making this style, “timeless and a sure classic.” And for $55? Yes, please!
All these hats (and more!) can be found in Old Town Pasadena — Anthropologie and J.Crew are located on Fair Oaks and Colorado Blvd.; and Goorin Brothers is located directly located on Colorado Blvd. What’ll you be rocking on your head this fall?
