Old Town Pasadena is becoming the place for boutiques and retail chains alike. Already, we’ve seen sophisticated and luxe Scotch and Soda, Splendid, Vince., Athleta, and Anthropologie open their doors along the chic street of Colorado Blvd. And coming this fall, even more will join them. While some are possibilities (you know, “word on the street” and all), others are definite additions, and no doubt, all would add great value to the shopping streets of Pasadena. Let’s peruse, shall we?
First up is Quicksilver. Word on the street is the huge surf clothing and snowboard outwear chain may be moving into Val Surf’s old spot, the last storefront on the north side of Colorado Blvd. and Pasadena Ave. The retail swap might not be noticeable to all since Quicksilver and Val Surf share similar styles and clothing lines–for the surfer, skater, and snowboarder. Still, change is change, right?
Next on the list is Lou & Grey. Now, not too long ago, I wrote a post about LOFT playing host to a cool, casual, chic line called Lou & Grey. To my surprise, LOFT has vacated its Paseo location (no word yet if it’s moving elsewhere), but to my utter joy, Lou & Grey is opening its very own boutique right here in Old Town Pasadena. Location? Lululemon’s old spot, on the south side of Colorado Blvd., between Steve Madden and Lucky Brand. Can we say hurrah?
Taking over Juicy Couture’s old locale (north side of Colorado Blvd., adjacent to Kate Spade) is Nike. Finally! I’ve been waiting for one of these stores to come to Pasadena– the closet stores are either in Orange County or Santa Monica. Nike is set to open this Fall and carry both men’s and women’s athletic gear.
Be sure to check back for the latest on shopping in Old Town Pasadena–I make it my duty to keep you in the know.
