My new favorite trend? Track pants. A pant equally comfortable and stylish must mean it’s the perfect piece for fall. And with numerous stores offering their own twist on the trend, you’re bound to find one pair that fits.
Already, I’ve stumbled upon the track pant in several stores in Old Town Pasadena. From dressier fabrics to more casual silhouettes, the track pant is everywhere. And should be. It’s the pant you can pair with a blazer and heals for work and sneakers and a hoodie for the weekend. Sandals and a fedora for the beach; flats and a chambray for brunch. Plus, what’s more comfortable than stretchy, slinky pants? Trust me, you’ll want to live and sleep in them, all day, everyday.
First stop on the list? Gap. Located directly on Colorado Blvd in Old Town Pasadena, Gap has the largest selection I’ve seen of track pants. All different textures. All different colors. Track pants with side zippers; pocket zippers; tie waists. My favorite pair is their classic Track Pant in black–simple elastic waistband in a french terry, these pants seem to slouch perfectly on the body. And for $49.95? Yes please!
Next is one of Old Town’s newest stores, Splendid. I tried on their Indigo Dye Relaxed Trouser for $128 and fell in love. They fit like a dream; they were incredibly soft; and I could see several outfits appear before my eyes–always a plus when trying on clothes! While they’re a bit pricey, they’re definitely worth the splurge. (Try them on. You’ll see.)
A post wouldn’t be a post without some mention of J.Crew. For a dressier look, this store’s twist on the track pant has you covered. Like the Turner Pant. Made in a heavy matte crepe, this pair of pants comes in numerous yummy colors (my favorite being Belvedere Red), and features front-zip pockets and a cuffed ankle. Dressy, comfortable, and priced at $98? They’re a steal.
