What type of music moves you? Country? Soul? Jazz? Americana? No matter what genre you prefer, one of the performances at the Levitt Pavilion at Memorial Park will make you happy. From Thursday through Sunday, until August 23, a different concert is scheduled so that you can get out there, with a sandwich and a drink, and take advantage of the abundance of vitamin D currently offered by our mighty Sun.
If you haven’t attended a concert yet, you’ve already missed one month of music, so we do not want you to miss out anymore! Below we are listing the upcoming concerts by date. We’re planning to be there on Sunday, July 27, to catch the Pete Escovedo Orchestra, that band founded by the elegant looking Mexican-American percussionist whose children came out just as talented – have you heard of Sheila E.? Peter Michael? Juan Escovedo?
And then perhaps we’ll make it on August 16 as well for a little shaking to the music of Ricardo Lemvo y Makina Loca, which has an infectious sound representing Lemvo’s Angolan roots nicely fused with the fabulous music of Cuba. Sounds good eh? Well, let’s go!
The Levitt Pavilion is located at 85 E. Holly St in Pasadena. The concerts are free of charge. You are welcomed to bring a blanket or chairs from home as seating is limited. You can also bring a picnic but no alcohol. This is a family event, so bring the kids and the grandpas!
