Eater is reporting that Meat District will soon occupy the space formerly occupied by the Cuban-flavored Xiomara restaurant.
Due to open sometime in the next month, the place is reportedly called Meat District and is the work of Platinum Restaurant Group. Based in Australia, Meat District will be the group’s first outfit in Los Angeles. They already have over 10 eateries down under and seem to be expanding into the Northern Hemisphere, if the coming restaurant is any indication.
According the PRG website, the menu will include “tender and juicy steaks, slow roasted ribs, succulent burgers, the freshest of salads, irresistible desserts… and of course, a one of a kind beer selection.”
Meat District, a modern industrial experience, will be all about the meat, with cured meats hanging and in-house butchers. They also promise a select blend of seasonings to enhance the grilled meat. Accompanying the meal is fresh made bread, but no word on whether or not that is to be made in-house or sourced locally.
Despite the scant details on the company’s website and Facebook page, it sounds like Meat District is a new spin on the steakhouse, which is a nice addition to the neighborhood.
Apparently another location is planned for West Hollywood as well, in addition to the location formerly occupied by Xiomara at 69 N. Raymond.
Keep an eye out for their official opening and you can also check them out here and on Facebook.
