Since I work from home part time, I’m always on the lookout for stylish yet comfortable clothing. Or the casual chic wardrobe, as I call it. Which means I scour the stores for slouchy but interesting tees; cozy but blingy sweatshirts; and stretchy but tailored pants. Luckily, stores as of late are full of these pieces. (Lucky for my wardrobe; not so lucky for my wallet.)
Lately, I’ve been head over heels with J.Crew’s tissue tees–lightweight and breezy, these teeshirts come in multiple colors and patterns, all in a linen material that’s perfect for spring and summer. My favorite, which has been on repeat recently, is the “These Are The Days” tee in black and white ($45). With a slightly longer sleeve and drapey feel, this teeshirt is the perfect fit for a lounge-y day at home or under a blazer at the office.
My next obsession? The blingy sweatshirt. What better describes casual chic than one of these sweet softies? Like the Marled Jeweled Sweatshirt (on sale!) at J.Crew–this denim-y blue sweatshirt fits like a sweater and is lined at the collar with hand-applied jewels. No need to even think about accessorizing, ladies. It’s already been done for you.
And lastly, maybe the most difficult–the comfortable yet tailored pant. You know, the one that you can sit in all day and not fear they’ll stretch out? Well, I found them. The Pilcro Serif Moto Leggings from Anthropologie are the perfect blend of stretchy material and fitted denim. Meaning, I can spend all day writing in them–then head out for the night as if I’ve pulled them straight from my closet. Plus, the interesting zipper detailing on both the pockets and ankles takes any casual outfit to the next level. (Don’t let the $118 price tag deter you–I’ve seriously been wearing these non stop since I brought them home!)
With help from these great Old Town Pasadena stores, working from home never felt so stylishly comfortable. Head on over to J.Crew and Anthropologie and pick up your latest casual chic wardrobe now!
