Local chefs and food gurus are teaching cooking classes at the Arboretum so that you can add something new to your recipe repertoire at home, perfect for when you don’t feel like going out or want to impress your guests. Check out the next Fresh Cooking classes in the coming months:
First up is Paul Ragan of Altadena’s ALTAeats restaurant. On February 12, the Chef and co-owner will be sharing some of his favorite recipes. Ragan has previously traveled the world learning about new flavors and has worked at Derek’s Bistro in Pasadena before opening the under the radar ALTAAeats to rave reviews.
Alexandra Poer Sheridan of Alexandria’s Table has long been a supporter of the Fresh Cooking program. For this special event, the talented chef and boutique owner is celebrating spring and giving students the opportunity to learn how to throw their own spring-themed party with a savory egg dish, a sweet something and a salad and drink as well. Check out her class on March 12.
Casablanca-born cookbook author Kitty Morse is bringing the flavors of her home to Pasadena on March 9, complete with salads, stews (tagines), couscous, and pastry. Learn to make your own preserved lemons, a staple in the Moroccan pantry and sip on a refreshing mint iced tea as Kitty gives you tips and tricks to impress your friends and family from her years of experience writing cookbooks.
