Crossings opened just last month and it is already earning high praise on Yelp!, an amazing feat for a newly opened restaurant. However, given the industry veterans behind the American classic establishment, it may be less surprising.
Opened on December 9, Crossings is the new effort from Patrick Kirchen, who has 20 years of experience at notable Los Angeles eateries that include Le Grand Orange and Nick + Stef’s. He has tapped Lalo Sanchez as Executive Chef. Previously Sanchez was the man in the back at local favorite Parkway Grill. Finishing off the menu is Danielle Keene, a former contestant of Top Chef Desserts and part of the opening team behind the sweet shop Bittersweet Treats in Pasadena.
At Crossings, Sanchez is overseeing a menu filled with classics like steaks and chops and seafood, but a focus on seasonal ingredients that have been locally sourced are sure to keep things interesting. Already it seems that some menu items have become favorites, like the oxtail sliders and lamb chops, while the seasonal persimmon and burrata appetizer has captured my attention.
Located in the historic Edwards & Faw building, and shaded by a 100-year old oak tree, the restaurant is already drawing a loyal following. Fans have noted everything from exceptional service to the glamorous yet understated design by celebrity home designer Tamara Kaye-Honey. The ambiance is warm and welcoming and the bar scene is already becoming a favorite place to stop in and enjoy a cocktail or a glass of wine from the extensive selection. And having an upstairs space is pretty cool too.
