The 35,000-square-foot Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA Animal Care Campus at Raymond and Del Mar is nearing completion. It is taking animal welfare to a new level, as is apparent when one drives by or looks at the construction videos here. The Campus will provide more essential community services and resources for seven surrounding communities. There will be an expanded spay/neuter and wellness clinic; a behavior, training and education center; an outdoor enrichment area; a larger retail store; subterranean parking; and additional kennels.
The Pasadena Humane Society is an open door facility with animal control contracts with Arcadia, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre and South Pasadena. They accept all animals, regardless of age, health, temperament, or breed. Pet overpopulation is a tragedy that requires a multifaceted approach so PHS decided to build the Animal Care Center to concentrate on expanded programs to help keep animals out of this shelter and other shelters.
They offer affordable spay/neuter clinic open to everyone, which is an immediate and effective tool in preventing overpopulation.
They also offer affordable vaccination programs for owned animals so that more cats and dogs will be protected from infectious disease and the animals of the community at large will be healthier.
They feature classes and day care for public animals, another efficient and effective way to keep pets in their homes and out of a shelter.
The Pasadena Humane Society is investing in a humane future for animals through an expansion of their Educational Outreach to students of all ages.
Sheltered animals are well cared for in clean, sanitized housing. Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds –they even have one alligator — are treated compassionately and humanely. Pasadena Humane Society will announce enrichment programs for dogs, cats and rabbits when the Animal Care Center opens. The Pasadena Humane Society wants all who want to adopt, license, spay/neuter or use the center to be able to do so and have made the Animal Care Center easily accessible with underground parking available.
