Around the holidays, stress levels rise and taking it slow can be difficult. But the newly opened Home Brewed Bar understands the importance of taking things slowly, cold brewing a central focus of the new coffee spot in Old Pasadena.
Home Brewed Bar takes its coffee seriously, rather than the usual hot water process; Home Brewed Bar steeps its beans and teas in cold water for at least 20 hours to get the flavor and consistency just right. The result is a cold coffee, but without much of the bitterness that many coffee drinkers take for granted.
Like other specialty coffee stores, in time for the holidays Home Brewed Bar is serving up some seasonal favorites, according to its Facebook page. Going beyond the typical eggnog latte found at many coffee joints, the list includes intriguing sounding options: White Chocolate Pour Over and a Peppermint Mocha Pour Over. And for non-coffee drinkers, or just those looking for something a little different, there is also a White Strawberry Milk Tea and Ethos “Wellness” Tea.
And there are plenty of other choices to make as well. The regular menu selection is wide ranging; and even features milk selections– soy, hemp, almond and condensed—and coffee and tea additions—coffee jelly and boba, not to mention “pour overs.”
Home Brewed Bar calls itself a grassroots at educating people about cold brewed coffee and tea. They are also determined to be as community friendly as possible, joining in Pasadena’s holiday celebrations and sourcing the beans for their signature house blend from Jones Coffee Roasters in Pasadena.
Every aspect of Home Brewed Bar has been carefully thought out, from it’s name to it’s location to its website page, which urges people to donate to various charities and relief programs.
