Handmade Holiday Christmas Boutique – Dec. 5 to 7
If you are searching for one-of-a-kind gifts for this holiday season, check out this event at the First Church of the Nazarene of Pasadena (3700 East Sierra Madre Blvd). There will be all sorts of handmade crafts, food, and gifts that will not only delight your friends and relatives but which proceeds will fund scholarships to be given to single women, their children, and other youth. “A Christmas Carol” – Dec. 7 through 22
No Christmas season is complete without watching the famous Dickens tale once again. It starts this Saturday, December 7, at A Noise Within (3352 E. Foothill Blvd) at 2 p.m. and again at 8 p.m. The run will continue until December 22. This production is 90 minutes long with no intermission and appropriate for ages 7 and above. Parson’s Nose Theater will also perform “A Christmas Carol” at Lineage Performing Arts Center (89 South Fair Oaks) on December 21 at 7 p.m. and December 22 at 3 p.m. As part of its Readers’ Theater Series, this production is a rehearsed staged reading, without props or set pieces, concentrating on transmitting the story to the audience through acting and language alone. LA Children’s Chorus’ 28th annual winter concert – Dec. 8
This event starts on Saturday, Dec. 7, which is now sold out. Tickets are still available, however, for the Sunday, Dec. 8 show at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held at the Pasadena Presbyterian Church (585 E. Colorado Blvd), on this evening with the Concert and Intermediate Choirs and Chamber Singers performing. The program will include Britten’s “Ceremony of Carols” and “Friday Afternoons” plus a selection of English carols and cathedral anthems from Sir David Willcoks and John Rutter.
