Annual Art Festival at Creative Arts Group – November 8 to 10
Launch your holiday shopping by finding a one-of-a-kind gift at the Creative Arts Group’s Annual Art Festival, which will be held at 108 N. Baldwin Avenue in Sierra Madre. This is an indoor show that will display the work of over 60 artists. Shumei Children’s Concerts – November 13 and 21
Selected students from the USC Thornton School of Music, organized by Professor Tien-Hsin Cindy Wu, will perform a concert appropriate for children attending third grade and up on November 13 at Shumei Hall. Children will learn about the most common string instruments used in classical music and will hear solo performances and quartet arrangements that will introduce them to several important composers. UCLA professor and University Organist Dr. Christoph Bull will give a recital appropriate for children attending third grade and up on November 21 at noon time also at Shumei Hall. He will demonstrate the different sounds that can be created on an organ, how the feet are used to work the instrument, and will play samples of classical, contemporary, and original pieces. Admission to this concert is also free and reservations are recommended by calling (626) 584-8841.

Crown City Symphony – November 16 and 17
Conducted by Marvin Neumann, Crown City Symphony will present a concert on Saturday, November 16, at 2 p.m. at the Pasadena Christian Church, located at 789 N. Altadena Drive. Then on Sunday, November 17, at 2 p.m., another concert at the First Baptist Church, located at 75 N. Marengo.
Violinist Paul Stein, of the LA Philarmonic, will be a soloist during Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, Haydn’s Violin Concerto in C, and Mozart’s Symphony #31 “The Paris.” Both concerts will be free of charge.
“Madeline’s Christmas” at Theatre360 – December 6 to 15
Appropriate for youngsters 6 to 19 years-old, “Madeline’s Christmas” is a festive holiday musical during which Miss Clavel and all the other girls catch the flue, but not Madeline. She instead finds a way to nurse them all back to health and get them to their families on time for Christmas, while singing songs like “Achoo!,” “Abracadabra,” and many more. It will perform on December 6, 7, 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. and on December 8 and 15 at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling (626) 577-5922. The Annual Castle Green Holiday Tour – December 8
The spirit of Dickens comes to life at Castle Green on December 8 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. for its annual holiday tour when it will be transformed into a Victorian wonderland. You can experience Castle Green’s restored 1890’s splendor, only open to the public on this date, plus music, entertainment, and period décor. You will be able to tour the Grand salons and grounds and see over 25 privately owned condominium units. Snacks will be available for purchase. Admission is $20 and can be purchased at www.castlegreen.com or at the door on the day of the event.
