One stroll through Old Town Pasadena tells you there is a range of cuisine available for any diner’s desires. But, maybe you’re fed up with eating out and want to spend some quality time cooking at home…so what do you do? Experiment with a series of cooking classes!
Old Town Cooking School is the brainchild of Deb Schwartz, who founded the business five years ago after years of requests for classes based on her own thirty-year passion for food. She has been cooking and studying food since her pre-teen years.
The fun of cooking school is you can make of it whatever you want: it can be a one-time, date night out event, often themed by nationality or holiday that comes complete with wine pairings; or it can be a series of information-packed classes that build basic cooking skills or build on intermediate ones.
Old Town Cooking School caters to home cooks and offers five types of classes:
• Gourmet Dinner Class –Dinner includes three courses with wines and starters and is often themed around a nationality or culture.
• Cooking Essentials –A two-hour demo detailing one aspect of a dish or skill.
• Dinner Parties That You Cook— network with new friends and prepare a meal that culminates in a family style dinner.
• Boot Camp: Sound scary? Relax…it’s for beginners!
• Private Classes or Team Building
Classes are held at Casita Del Arroyo Clubhouse 177 S Arroyo Blvd Pasadena, CA 91105. Call 626 791-0358 or visit www.oldtowncookingschool.com
Because of scheduling challenges and renovations to Casita Del Arroyo Old Town Cooking School will shutter its Sunday Cooking Essentials classes and Thursday evening classes, until further notice. They promise to let us all know when those classes are back.
