Grab an Array of Sushi at A’Float Sushi

a float sushiWhen you’re hungry enough, the wait at a restaurant can seem interminable. Luckily, if you are fortunate enough to belly up to the sushi bar at A’Float, food is within your grasp as soon as you sit down. The rotating sushi bar lets customers grab a plate and start to eat immediately.
The rotating sushi bar may not have the best sushi in town, but it certainly has some of the best entertainment. A’Float is a great place to take out of towners or sushi first timers. The sushi floats around on charming wooden boats and is easily accessible, with a variety of sashimi, rolls and even some cooked treats and desserts. If you have a favorite dish, you can request it from the chefs or waitresses, but there is usually a broad enough array going around the belt to keep even die-hard sushi fans satisfied. There are also tempura and noodle options for non-sushi eaters.
A’Float tends to get crowded on the weekends, so you can also opt for a table rather than sitting at the bar. The staff leaves a space at the bar open so that you can still walk up and grab a dish that strikes your fancy. During the week the bar is a lot less crowded, making it a good time to get a quick lunch, but the selection tends to be a lot less extensive.
As for pricing, A’Float is one of the more affordable sushi places in town, thanks to its price-per-plate system. Look at your menu key for a look at the price of the differently decorated plates, which correspond to different prices so that there are no surprises when your bill comes. At the end of your meal, your empty plates are added up.
Best of all, the location in the heart of Old Town means that it is walking distance to free parking as well as shops, bars and dessert places from ice cream to macarons if the mochi on rotation doesn’t strike your fancy.
