Summer time in Pasadena brings along a much anticipated event – the Music Festival at the Levitt Pavilion.
This year the series opens on Sunday, June 16, at 7 p.m. with the “Jazz Leaders,” a group that includes six important names in the world of Jazz and Latin Jazz: trumpeter Dr. Bobby Rodriguez, bassist Ryan Cross, pianist Billy Mitchell, drummer Paul Kreibich, saxophonist Ricky Woodard and percussionist Bobby Matos.
You could enjoy the concert from the seating available in front of the stage or bring blankets and chairs to be placed at a perfect spot about the park. You can also take your own food and drink (no alcohol allowed) or purchase it from the various food vendors.
Once the series starts, your kids can attend every Wednesday Children’s concert (starting June 19 with the Bob Baker Marionettes), and the entire family can enjoy the Thursday World music, the Friday Americana nights, the Latin Alternative Saturdays, and the Jazz/Funk/Soul filled Sundays. The series will continue through the end of August, free of charge.
Memorial Park is located in Old Pasadena between Walnut and Holly on Raymond Ave. (85 E. Holly St.). There is plenty of metered parking on Raymond, as well as public garages in the surrounding areas. Of course, for plenty of Pasadena residents attending the concerts entails just a short walk down the street!
Enjoy one of the best summer activities offered by our fine city! See you at the Levitt Pavilion Pasadena!
